DupeMaster 1.7 Final RELEASE NOTES
November 23, 2002

New Features:
 - Updated look of toolbar, menus and preferences.
 - Changed help file to MS HTML help (.chm)
 - Added print, with print preview, of matched files list.
 - Added ability to select multiple databases when adding databases to the list.
 
Fixes:
 - Different versions of cryptpak.dll (used for hashing) now detected and handled accordingly.
 - Move files not working on some Win9x systems.

DupeMaster 1.5 FINAL RELEASE NOTES

New Features:
- Database name and path can be typed in when creating a new database.

Fixes:
- Mix/Max filesize.
- Error creating Hash Only database. Also fixes version error in db.
- Error creating database without specifying a name.

- Object not set error if a file read error is encountered while generating hashes for a save to database.

New Features:
- Ability to copy/move tagged/selected files.
- Saves last used load/save path of profiles.
- Changed compact database to use Jet Engine CompactDatabase method.
- Saves current window position on exit and restores at startup.
- Option to load last used profile at startup.
- Display list of files that encountered read errors while hashing.

Fixes:
- Was not updating recent profiles menu list.
- Error when converting from STD to HASH_ONLY database (error cropped back in from previous fix).
- Check for profile existence before attempting to load.
- Matched file count on status window may be incorrect when the last file in a match group is checked and the other items in the group are deleted.

Fixes:
 - Fixed profile not being considered changed after scan started, under certain circunstances.
 - Fixed problem where the same file could be scanned and considered a duplicate if a subdirectory of a directory already listed is added.

Features:
 - Added Proxy settings in preferences.
 - Added tabbed preferences dialog.
 - Added ability to drag/drop paths to the path selector.
 - Added option to add all files to DB regardless of hash match (unique on hash+name)
 - Added option to skip zero length files.
 - Added option for Minimum and Maximum file sizes to search for.

 - Additional Database type options
   o Hash only - Only hash and file size are stored to reduce database size. Entries are unique by hash.
   o Standard - Hash, file name, file size, file date/time, file location. Entries are unique by hash.
   o Extended - Hash, file name, file size, file date/time, file location. Entries are unique by hash + file name.
 - Additional database options allow for smaller database size at the expense of options.
 - Added ability to convert databases between these new formats.
 - Added ability to use either standard SHA1 hash, or a modified CRC-32. CRC is smaller, but has a greater chance of generating a false positive match. Added at the request of users.
 - Added display of hash information on a matched file.
 - Added ability to launch selected matched file with associated application.
 - Program now remembers the last path used when adding paths to search and creating/adding new databases.
 - Added option to toggle recursing subdirectories on a directory by directory basis.
 - Added wildcard tagging of matched files.
 - Added user editable path for check all in directory & check all below directory
 - Added option to delete read only files.

Fixes:
 - Fixed profile not being considered changed when DBs or Paths were checked/unchecked.
 - Fixed error message if CANCEL selected from Profile Save As dialog.
 - Fixed file date/time in matched list not local time.
 - Fixed error when entering registration from the splash screen.
 - Fixed error in status box check/uncheck gives negative counts under some circumstances.

 - Fix: On some occasions, if the delete all database matches is selected, some of the other matches will be removed. The last item in the match group would not be deleted.

 - Added: Option to process application events while deleting, settable under preferences.
